We aim to fill the gap between students, young scientists and scientists that already have established themselfs. We organize events supported by ÖPG, offering engaging talks and exciting challenges where knowledge is both tested and rewarded.

Come by at the ÖPG-CMD-JOINTMEETING 2026
All students, PhD candidates, early-career researchers, and of course all other conference participants are invited to attend the Career Talks / Equal Opportunities lecture series, organized in cooperation with the Working Group on Equal Opportunities in Physics (AKCP). Consisting of three sessions, this series offers insights into career opportunities for physics graduates outside of academia, as well as discussions on equality and diversity within the field.
In addition, the Young Minds Session will take place again this year; no conference registration is required to attend this specific session. This year’s focus is on the skills and knowledge essential in science that go beyond formulas and theories, as well as an overview of the research landscape with a special emphasis on non-university research institutes.
When: The detailed program can be found on the conference website – our events are scheduled for Sept 22–24 (Equal Opportunities / Career Talks) and Sept 25, 2026 (Young Minds Session).
Where: OePG-CMD-JOINTMEETING 2026, University of Graz, Graz Center of Physics
