Uni Wien - PhD Position at the Physics of Functional Materials Group

Calculation of magnetic properties using machine learning

Supervisor: Univ. Prof. Dr. Dieter Suess

The PhD project
In this PhD project, a machine learning algorithm will be developed for magnetic systems. Specifically, the project aims to solve non-linear magnetic equations (e.g. macroscopic Maxwell equations) using physically informed neural networks or similar approaches. These models will be implemented and verified both computationally and experimentally. The application of the models in industrial settings will involve active exchange and brainstorming of ideas with the team at Silicon Austrian Labs (SAL), and the supervising university.

Cooperation
The PhD position is in cooperation with SAL, which conducts research in the areas of Sensor Systems, Intelligent Wireless Systems, Power Electronics, Embedded Systems, and Microsystems. The position includes planned time at SAL in Villach, Austria, ranging from several weeks to months.
