The Institute of Physics is looking for an

University Assistant without doctorate

(30 hours a week; fixed-term employment until 4 years; position to be filled as of December 1st 2021 )

Your duties

  • Research activities in Theoretical Physics, particularly in Theoretical Nanophysics (Prof. Weiss) with a focus on epsilon-near-zero materials

  • Assistance in teaching activities, particularly in tutorials

  • Participation in the institute’s outreach activities in the field of optics

  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile

  • Diploma or Master in physics or related subjects

  • Knowledge in electrodynamics and optics

  • Very good command of English

  • Not necessary, but preferable is knowledge in theoretical and numerical nanooptics

  • Ability to work independently and

  • Skills in communication, organization, and team work

Our offer


Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1

Minimum salary

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 2228.60 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
