The Institute of Physics is looking for a
University Assistant with doctorate
(40 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 6 years; position to be filled as of October 1st 2021 )
Participation in the research group Theoretical Nanophysics (Prof. Weiss)
Support and development of numerical methods in the research group and support of simulation campaigns
Participation in structured research activities and networks
Participation in organizational and administrative tasks
Depending on demand up to 4 h/week/semester teaching in theoretical and computational physicse
PhD in physics or related subjects
Relevant knowledge in theoretical nanooptics and related numerical methods
Knowledge in the theory of resonant states, also known as quasi-normal modes (desirable)
Successful research activities
Skills in communication, organization and team work
Didactic skills for independent teaching (desirable)
Excellent command of English
Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1
The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 3945.90 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
