The Paris Lodron-University of Salzburg, Austria invites applications for a permanent position as full professor in Solid State and Materials Physics at the Department of Materials Science and Physics

Candidates should have an excellent record of research in the field of experimental condensed matter physics and should strengthen the area of functional materials at Salzburg with an innovative research programme. Of special interest are scientists that work on natural and synthetic materials (simple or composite), the functionality of which arises from their micro- and nanoscale structures and properties. The focus should lie in the characterization of interfacial properties and processes mainly through the use of microscopic and spectroscopic techniques. A research programme will be favoured that does not rely on ultra-high vacuum and/or clean-room laboratories.
